Meet Teddy, Bear, and Grizzly — three adorable chihuahuas — and enjoy a dog photo journey through my lush secret garden with them and their person Suzanne.
Summer is one of the best times to visit the 50-acre Awbury Arboretum for a golden-hour dog photo session: Several meadows are now deep green, shaded, and feature stone walls, blossoms, and an historic circa 1860 mansion. And we often have it mostly to ourselves, especially in July and August.
We started our adventure steps from the parking lot behind the Cope House mansion where light is filtered through hydrangeas and ferns. Here we made images of each dog with Suzanne as well as two-year-old Grizzly's glamour shots: He looks like a proud forest nymph, don’t you think?
Teddy was the oldest dog competing at the AKC National Agility Championship earlier this year. So impressive! Young Grizzly is following in Teddy’s agility footsteps and is also lighting up the conformation ring, while Teddy and Bear are having a blast in rally.
