One of the best things you can do for yourself is set aside a little time to celebrate those who are with us so briefly but give us so much.

Your dog's beauty arises from a whole spectrum of characteristics, behaviors, and quirks. This is why my sessions allow the space and time for special moments to happen naturally, both in the studio and on location.

Here’s how it works:

1. Tell me about your dog, and I'll design a session that fully considers your dog's specific needs and your own personal style. You'll also benefit from my support and tips along the way.

2. Relax and enjoy your session, which is pet-driven with no time limit. Plan on devoting at least 90 minutes plus image viewing, longer for 3+ pets.

3. We'll review your images together — often immediately after your session — and I'll help you select the portraits that resonate with you the most.

Essential Pet Session

Essential Sessions can take place in my Philly studio, outdoors at one of my beautiful, curated locations in and around the Philadelphia area, or at a location that has special meaning for you. Travel beyond Philly is additional.

Session fee is $200 and includes:

Your pre-session consultation
Photographer's time and expertise during your session
Image viewing and selection post session
A premium selection of products plus design guidance
Up to two dogs and immediate family

Artwork and digital images are purchased separately. All printed works include the digital version.

Puppy Puppy Puppy Package

I believe so strongly in the importance of documenting and celebrating your puppy's first 16 months — and in the value of gently introducing puppies to a variety of novel experiences — I waive the session fee for puppies up to 16 months old.

In three distinct sessions, I’ll capture the transformation of your young puppy through to their first birthday and beyond. For example, sessions can take place at 9 weeks, 16 weeks, and 1 year — or over a longer period ending at 16 months if you’d like to give your pup time to fill out and mature even more before their final puppy session. All pricing outlined in the Essential Session applies, minus its session fee.

How does a custom photo session work exactly?

1. Start by simply clicking Contact and letting me know who you want me to capture!

2. We'll talk on the phone and come up with a plan to make the most of our time together. And of course discuss what to wear! Once we choose a date, because I dedicate a lot of time to each client, you must pay for your session ahead of time to save your spot.

3. It's your session day and we'll have fun making beautiful images. We'll also review your proof gallery together so you're sure to get exactly what you want in digital form as well as metal or acrylic wall art and albums.

4. Within 2-3 weeks, you'll receive your polished digital images with your finished art works following closely after.

What do you mean each image I purchase is "hand edited"?

In every image you select, skin is gently smoothed and fur and fuzzies are stamped out along with any distracting background elements. The colors and contrast are adjusted to refine each image. All of this is done with a light but meticulous touch and it's part of what gives photos a true professional look. Major reconstruction of the elements is not included, however.

What if my pet isn't well-trained and my kids can't sit still?

First of all, the candid, untrained, goofy moments are priceless and deserve to be captured and celebrated! Perfect behavior is not expected nor even desirable for much of your session.

That said, over my 20+ years of training dogs to be agility champions and animal actors and photographing pets and kids, I've developed a wide array of tools and techniques that enable me to consistently capture meaningful photos. These include but are not limited to: treats, props, intuition, eyes in the back of my head, and a dead-on chicken impression!

Kids have an amazing ability to think out of the box and I like to encourage them to experiment and be themselves which often leads to cherished candid images.

What should I wear?

What you wear depends upon the mood you want to set. Part of how a mood is achieved is by making a decision to either blend in with the background or stand out in contrast to it. If you're interested in a more relaxing, harmonious vibe, blending in with the background can help with that. A sharper contrast with the background will create a more bold, energized image. I have many background colors available in the studio to suit your mood and decor and I keep a close eye on outdoor backgrounds as well. We'll touch on this and more during our phone consult before your shoot.

What if it rains on our outdoor shoot?

Cloudy bright skies are wonderful for full, rich colors without harsh shadows and dry, light snow can be magical, but if it's raining during our shoot time, we'll certainly reschedule. Ultimately, shooting outdoors is definitely worth the planning required.

Will you travel to my location?

You bet! There's no charge for travel within Northwest Philly. Travel beyond Northwest Philly is $1 per mile round trip.

What payment options do you accept?

Cash, checks, and all major credit cards are accepted. Most people pay the session fee online through a link emailed via Square that accepts credit as well as debit cards.

How long until I receive my photos?

You'll receive your fully edited digital images within two to three weeks, usually faster.
