1. Start by simply clicking Contact and letting me know who you want me to capture!

2. We'll talk on the phone and come up with a plan to make the most of our time together. And of course discuss what to wear! Once we choose a date, because I dedicate a lot of time to each client, you must pay for your session ahead of time to save your spot.

3. It's your session day and we'll have fun making beautiful images. We'll also review your proof gallery together so you're sure to get exactly what you want in digital form as well as metal or acrylic wall art and albums. 

4. Within 2-3 weeks, you'll receive your polished digital images with your finished art works following closely after.

In every image you select, skin is gently smoothed and fur and fuzzies are stamped out along with any distracting background elements. The colors and contrast are adjusted to refine each image. All of this is done with a light but meticulous touch and it's part of what gives photos a true professional look. Major reconstruction of the elements is not included, however.

First of all, the candid, untrained, goofy moments are priceless and deserve to be captured and celebrated! Perfect behavior is not expected nor even desirable for much of your session.

That said, over my 20+ years of training dogs to be agility champions and animal actors and photographing pets and kids, I've developed a wide array of tools and techniques that enable me to consistently get The Shot. These include but are not limited to: treats, props, intuition, eyes in the back of my head, and a dead-on chicken impression!

Kids have an amazing ability to think out of the box and I like to encourage them to experiment and be themselves which often leads to cherished candid images.

What you wear depends upon the mood you want to set. Part of how a mood is achieved is by making a decision to either blend in with the background or stand out in contrast to it. If you're interested in a more relaxing, harmonious vibe, blending in with the background can help with that. A sharper contrast with the background will create a more bold, energized image. I have many background colors available in the studio to suit your mood and decor and I keep a close eye on outdoor backgrounds as well. We'll touch on this and more during our phone consult before your shoot.

Cloudy bright skies are wonderful for full, rich colors without harsh shadows and dry, light snow can be magical, but if it's raining during our shoot time, we'll certainly reschedule. Ultimately, shooting outdoors is definitely worth the planning required.
